Biden press aide resigns over threatening to ‘destroy’ reporter pursuing private story

The White Home stated Saturday it has accepted the resignation of a staffer who allegedly threatened to “destroy” a reporter who was asking about his private life.

White Home Deputy Spokesman TJ Ducklo was initially suspended for one week with out pay, however now the administration of President Joe Biden has accepted his resignation, White Home Press Secretary Jen Psaki stated in a press release.

In keeping with Self-importance Truthful journal, Ducklo known as Politico reporter Tara Palmeri after she started asking questions on his months-old private relationship with a reporter from Politico rival Axios, Alexi McCammond.

“I’ll destroy you,” Ducklo allegedly stated to Palmeri in a cellphone name shortly after Biden’s January 20 presidential inauguration.

In keeping with Self-importance Truthful, Ducklo “made derogatory and misogynistic feedback” to Palmeri and known as her “jealous.”

Psaki stated the White Home accepted Ducklo’s resignation after talking with him Saturday night and is appearing with the assist of the White Home chief of workers.

Ducklo, who was nationwide press secretary for Biden’s 2020 election marketing campaign, issued a press release on Twitter addressing his “insupportable actions.”

“No phrases can specific my remorse, my embarrassment, and my disgust for my conduct. I used language that no girl ought to ever have to listen to from anybody, particularly in a scenario the place she was simply making an attempt to do her job,” he stated. 

“It was language that was abhorrent, disrespectful and unacceptable.”

Ducklo added that he was “devastated to have embarrassed and disillusioned my White Home colleagues and President Biden.”

Politico Playbook, the Washington politics ideas and gossip e-newsletter that Palmeri experiences for, wrote this week that McCammond made it public in November that she was relationship Ducklo.

A day after being sworn in as president, Biden warned his White Home workers in opposition to mistreating others.

“I am not joking after I say this: if you’re ever working with me and I hear you deal with one other colleague with disrespect, discuss right down to somebody, I’ll fireplace you on the spot.”
