The NGT directed the UP Chief Secretary to supervise the execution of river rejuvenation plans for Ami, Rapti, Rohani, Saryu and Ghagra and repair the timelines for rejuvenation of various parts with essential budgetary assist and designating the authorities/ officers answerable for it.

“Such initiatives can’t be delayed on the pretext of funding by the Nationwide Mission for Clear Ganga in view of the truth that stopping discharge of pollution in Ganga or different water our bodies a felony offence below the Water Act and even authorities are liable to be prosecuted for such offences within the mild of the judgement of the Supreme Court docket.
