Richard M. Bates, longtime Senior Vice President, U.S. Authorities Relations for The Walt Disney Firm, has died.
Since 2010, Bates oversaw Disney’s interactions with federal and state authorities entities and commerce associations. He was a 29-year Disney veteran. Previous to working for Disney, Bates served as Govt Director for the Democratic Congressional Marketing campaign Committee.
Disney Govt Chairman Bob Iger and Chief Govt Officer Bob Chapek issued the next joint assertion on his passing:
All of us at Disney are heartbroken by the sudden lack of our longtime colleague and expensive buddy Richard Bates. As head of our Authorities Relations crew in Washington, D.C., Richard was second to none in his subject —- extensively revered for his unbelievable achievements and beloved for his extraordinary kindness, compassion, and irresistible wit. He was keen about his work and approached it with the identical astuteness and unwavering enthusiasm he demonstrated when he first joined Disney three many years in the past. For these of us fortunate sufficient to have identified Richard personally, his loss is profound. He might be deeply missed, and our prayers and heartfelt condolences exit to his spouse Rose, their sons Ricky and Chris, and his complete household.
