German conservative MP quits over battle of curiosity allegations – POLITICO

Tobias Zech, an MP for Bavaria’s CSU, the sister celebration of Angela Merkel’s CDU celebration, resigned from his place within the German Bundestag over allegations of battle of curiosity, the Passauer Neue Presse and Münchner Merkur reported on Thursday night.

Information of the resignation got here after Der Spiegel reported Zech had in 2016 accepted a “five-digit sum” to marketing campaign for former North Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and foyer for his celebration. “I don’t think about it legally problematic. However politically, you can not act that manner,” Zech instructed PNP.

Gruevski was convicted on corruption prices in North Macedonia and was sentenced to 2 years in jail, however fled to Hungary in 2018 to keep away from jail.
