Iran Urges Seoul to Behave ‘Responsibly’ over Seizure of Korean Tanker

The Iranian overseas ministry spokesman has known as on Seoul to behave rationally and responsibly in coping with Tehran’s seizure of a South Korean vessel attributable to technical points.

In feedback on Tuesday, Saeed Khatibzadeh stated, “The South Korean authorities’s behaviour on this regard shouldn’t be comprehensible and is rejected.”

“We urge the Korean authorities to cope with this technical difficulty logically and responsibly,” Khatibzadeh famous.

“As introduced earlier than, the issue with the South Korean ship is a very technical one,” he stated.

“Like all nations, the Islamic Republic of Iran could be very delicate about defending its marine surroundings and offers with any violations in accordance with the legislation,” Khatibzadeh defined.
“Because the authority accountable for such points, the [Iranian] Ports and Maritime Group is professionally making an attempt to supply the mandatory help to the ship and its crew, and can inform the general public about it accordingly,” he stated.

He additionally weighed in on reviews suggesting a South Korean delegation is travelling to Iran to observe up on the matter.
