Kuwait’s prime minister submits Cupboard’s resignation

Kuwait’s prime minister submitted his authorities’s resignation Wednesday, with the Cupboard calling it quits after only a month in workplace. 

Prime Minister Sabah al-Khalid al-Sabah handed in his Cupboard’s resignation to the Gulf-rich state’s ruling emir, Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Sabah, the official KUNA information company reported. On Tuesday, ministers stepped down en masse, with the deputy prime minister citing “present developments relating to the relation between the Nationwide Meeting and the federal government.”

Their resignation comes after 38 members of parliament sought to query the prime minister over what they imagine was a violation of the Kuwaiti Structure when he fashioned a brand new authorities final month.  

Kuwait’s absolutely elected, 50-person Nationwide Meeting is the oldest parliament within the Gulf area. The US-allied nation held parliamentary elections in December, throughout which the opposition gained almost half the seats.
