Former President Donald Trump threw his one-time prime ally, Senate Minority Chief Mitch McConnell, below the bus in a blistering statement on Tuesday.
Whereas McConnell voted to acquit Trump in his second impeachment trial, he gave a strongly-worded ground speech expressing his perception that Trump was “morally” chargeable for the riots.
Trump blasted McConnell as a “dour, sullen, unsmiling political hack,” saying that “if Republican Senators stick with him, they won’t win once more.”
He added: “The Democrats and Chuck Schumer play McConnell like a fiddle – they by no means had it so good – and so they wish to maintain it that manner! We all know our America First agenda is a winner, not McConnell’s Beltway First agenda or Biden’s America Final.”
